Discussion on literary topics: Theme and ideas
I finished reading Oedipus, and I wanted to explore the ideas that I got from the book. After I finished reading, I went back and I was looking at spots that I remembered that foreshadowed to the end result of the play. I noticed that this play in my opinion is trying to express the idea of not running away from your troubles, that people should deal with the problem and try to solve it, because running away from problems doesn't really solve anything. Finishing Oedipus helped me decide what I will track for the next books. Another idea that I got from Oedipus was more a observation rather than an idea, and it was how the characters really think that their future has beenset in stone. And that connect to the idea of problems, because if their problems have been set in stone they won't be able to escape and when they do "escape" the problems it just creates the problem.
